Hyperfeeder - RSS feed aggregator

This is an RSS/RDF news feed aggregator which outputs the aggregated feeds in HTML format. The advantages of this are:

  • View images (cartoon strips, image of the day, etc.) inline.
  • The output is portable. All you need is a Web browser. For instance, you can set Hyperfeeder to run periodically on your machine via crontab. Then, if you have a web server running, you can access the output remotely.
  • RSS fields like "textInput" result in elegant forms.

Hyperfeeder is extensively customizable, with provisions for setting virtually every tag in the output.

Bug reports / feature requests:

If you face a problem, please read the included manpages ( hyperfeeder(1) and hyperfeeder_config(1) ). If that does not solve your problem, please mail the exact circumstances when the bug occurred to <hyperfeeder at amitng dot net> . Additionally, if you have any feature requests, send them in to the same address.

Note:

  • You need to set up the list file for feeds initially.
  • Try output both with and without the NoShowTitle option in the config file and stick with what suits you.
  • Make sure that the output file specified has permissions set correctly.
  • If you are downloading the source, run the install script with root permissions, since it copies the executable and manpages to /usr/bin and the man directory.
  • Finally, try playing around with the tags to customize your output. You can even include a CSS file as part of the header.
